Shilpa Shetty injured

Shilpa Shetty injured her wrist and has been advised a three-month rest by her doctor. The actress has no clue as to what caused the injury.

"Either it happened because I was practising cartwheels for my new action film or it could be because of the wear and tear that happens in weight training," she says. Shilpa has found ways to camouflage the injury on screen.

"Ill wear a long sleeve top for Bigg Boss and I'll wear a fat kada for Sunny Deol's The Man."

The actress is now at home devoting to those activities that she had kept on hold because of her tight schedule.

"I have started reading scripts that I did not have time to read earlier. But I am going to be very careful about what I say yes to. I want to do films where my character is exceptionally well developed. I don't want to do multistarrers," she said.

Being producer for the first time Shilpa does not want to take any risks. "That's the reason why I haven't opted for top stars becuase getting their dates would be a problem. Also I have relaised that I have become of a producer than an actress.

I needed to do a U turn to be taken seriously as an actress once again." Shilpa added, "Financers want filmmakers to cut down on costs. How can that be possible? I don't want to compromise on the quality of my film to save a few bucks."

Shilpa Shetty on UK Big Brother

SHILPA Shetty is presently in UK. She is not shooting there for some Bollywood film but is a part of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’. Big Brother is one of the most talked about and reported show on UK television. The Indian version of it is running presently by the name of ‘Big Boss’.

Reality TV show ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ has returned for a fifth series, with 11 personalities from the worlds of glamour, TV, film, pop music and journalism.



The inmates of Big Brother’s house have tasks to be done every week and if they are successful, they are bigger budgets to buy things and treats as well. At least one celebrity will leave the house every week by a process of nomination and public eviction. The fame which goes along with this, is just too much of a reason to deny the invitation to the show.

The call for the show came so fast for Shilpa that she had to drop her plans of Christmas and is presently in some undisclosed place in UK.

Shilpa is adjusting with the Big Brother’s house, striking friendship with the mates and trying to break the notions of the West of Indian’s not being very bright.

The show kicked off on January 1 and spends 25 days at Big Brother’s house. She is the sole Indian at the show.

Shilpa Shetty is trying hard to be a favourite of voters as their polls can save her from being eliminated.

On her second day, she was attempting to teach the relaxing qualities of Om to her housemates Carole Malone, journalist and Ken Russell, film-maker. She was teaching them how to chant ‘om’.

Just when they had begun the exercise Ken’s coughing broke the meditation and Carole started to blame the doomed session. In fact, this started when Shetty was teaching Carole the relaxation techniques and Ken got inquisitive and joined the session.

Soon Shilpa offered some advice to her new-found students, ‘You`re not breathing right. We`re so occupied with life and the stuff we have to do that we don`t breathe.’

Shilpa said she was Hollywood’s answer to Angelina Jolie. The house-mates as well as British newspapers don’t quite agree with that although.

The British tabloids The Sun and its rival The Mirror have taken this opportunity and did pictures on her, one showing flattering publicity pictures and other showing a groggy-looking Shilpa.

She is trying hard to woo the British audience but seems to have not faired well. There are speculations that soon she will be asked to perform a belly-dance on the show with former beauty queen Danielle Lloyd and the celebrities are also said to be strapped to special monitors to determine who is the most sexually frustrated of all.

Shilpa Shetty returns to India

After winning the British reality TV show ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ where she endured alleged racial bullying that triggered protests in India and sparked a race relations debate in Britain, Shilpa Shetty has returned to India.Shilpa went straight to the Siddhivinayak temple on her arrival in Mumbai from London on Saturday to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesh.

"Shilpa believes in Ganeshji. She has been going to the temple every Tuesday for the past eight months," Dal Bhagwagar, Shilpa's publicist, said. Shilpa was accompanied by her parents and well-wishers. "She walks from her Versova home to the temple every Tuesday," Bhagwagar said. "She says she has a lot of faith in Ganeshji," Bhagwagar said when he was asked what Shilpa sought from the elephant god. Asked if Shilpa, who recently spoke about her single status, had sought a partner in her prayers, Bhagwagar said, "She went to the temple to offer prayers. She wanted to thank the lord for whatever she has received."
