Within hours of entering the celebrity jungle at the weekend, page three girl Nicola McLean was stripping to a barely-there bikini. The result: wall-to-wall coverage in the red tops. But is this well-worn publicity trick likely to work? Here we look at past I'm A Celebrity glamour girls and how stripping off has made them money... or not as much as they would have liked.

Despite her quiet demeanor, the model is far from shy, so she took every opportunity to flash her bikini body.

AFTER THE JUNGLE:

Her annual calendar saw soaring sales and she rocketed up FHM's 100 Sexiest List to number 18.

She now features in video game Red Alert 3, which is reportedly lifting her profile in the U.S.

Next month she's playing Peter Pan at Manchester Opera House.

£400,000. 'She has a great personality, but has done only small endorsement deals,' says celebrity PR Nick Ede.

'Her Ann Summers range looks good, but won't be a huge earner.

'With such a strong personality I think she and Vic could be the new Richard and Judy.'

KATIE PRICE

If it wasn't for I'm A Celebrity Series 3 in 2004, Jordan, 30, would never have met and married fellow jungle contestant Peter Andre.

She released her autobiography, Being Jordan, to coincide with I'm A Celebrity and sold more than 97,000 copies in a year.

She then put her married life up for public consumption with Jordan & Peter Laid Bare, a fly-on-the-wall TV documentary.

It was so popular that another six episodes followed in 2005 and there have been yearly instalments ever since.

She is paid a minimum of £25,000 for public appearances and her perfume, Stunning, has earned her a small fortune along with her Perfect Ponies children's books, and a workout DVD.

The style guru, 47, used her appearance in 2003's I'm A Celebrity to launch her own interiors catalogue under the brand name Really Linda Barker.

She has also appeared in TV adverts for sofa store DFS and Currys, modelled Asda underwear, made personal appearances and launched a yoga DVD.

£1.5 million. 'She is a very popular woman and was the first to really maximise on her potential.

'No one thought she would be the one from I'm A Celebrity to get so many endorsement deals and do so well from it,' says Nick Ede.

SOPHIE ANDERTON

Sophie Anderton, might have looked stunning, but her fiery character turned the public off

The supermodel, 31, famous for risque Wonderbra adverts, looked stunning in Series 4 in 2004, but her fiery disposition turned people against her.

AFTER THE JUNGLE:

Anderton's post-show success was somewhat overshadowed by her exposure as a call girl and cocaine addict, which cost her a £100,000 contract with tanning company Fake Bake.

A contestant on Celebrity Love Island, in 2006, she also modelled bigname lingerie.

Lined up for the first series of reality show Cirque de Celebrite, but withdrew due to injury.

After a traumatic break-up, she is reportedly in rehab.

THIS BIKINI'S WORTH:

£1 million. 'She was clever and used the controversy to boost her earnings,' says Nick Ede.

'But people have lost interest in her, and the scandal stops companies affiliating their brand with her.'

TARA PALMER-TOMKINSON

The original London It-girl was known for her drug habit during the Nineties, but after rehab, her appearance on the first series of I'm A Celebrity in 2002 was the perfect remedy.

Tara, 31, exploded into our living rooms.

She appeared on Top Gear and Footballer's Wives.

Just finished filming canine show The Underdog for Living TV and has been recording her debut album, Flawed, since winning Fame Academy last year.

Jennifer Aniston blasts Angelina Jolie

Jennifer Aniston has branded love rival Angelina Jolie “uncool” following the actress’s admission she fell in love with current partner Brad Pitt when he was still married to the former Friends star.

Jolie recently revealed she and Pitt “fell in love” on the set of 2004 movie Mr and Mrs Smith, a whole year before Pitt and Aniston divorced.

The quote contradicted their previous claims they only hooked up after the split was made formal.

And it has prompted Aniston to break her long silence on the subject, in an interview with the December 2008 issue of Vogue magazine. What Angelina did was very uncool.

The 39-year-old says, “What Angelina did was very uncool.” Just last year, Jolie offered to meet Aniston in her own interview with the magazine. She said at the time, “If she wanted to (meet) then I would be open to it.”

Shilpa Shetty injured

Shilpa Shetty injured her wrist and has been advised a three-month rest by her doctor. The actress has no clue as to what caused the injury.

"Either it happened because I was practising cartwheels for my new action film or it could be because of the wear and tear that happens in weight training," she says. Shilpa has found ways to camouflage the injury on screen.

"Ill wear a long sleeve top for Bigg Boss and I'll wear a fat kada for Sunny Deol's The Man."

The actress is now at home devoting to those activities that she had kept on hold because of her tight schedule.

"I have started reading scripts that I did not have time to read earlier. But I am going to be very careful about what I say yes to. I want to do films where my character is exceptionally well developed. I don't want to do multistarrers," she said.

Being producer for the first time Shilpa does not want to take any risks. "That's the reason why I haven't opted for top stars becuase getting their dates would be a problem. Also I have relaised that I have become of a producer than an actress.

I needed to do a U turn to be taken seriously as an actress once again." Shilpa added, "Financers want filmmakers to cut down on costs. How can that be possible? I don't want to compromise on the quality of my film to save a few bucks."

Nicole Richie's style war

Nicole Richie and her former stylist Rachel Zoe have ended their feud.

'The Simple Life' star - who reduced Rachel to tears after calling her nicknames including "raisin face" and "lettuce cup" on her MySpace page - was seen happily speaking to the fashionista at a Los Angeles store opening earlier this week.

Salma Hayek addicted to breastfeeding

Hollywood actress Salma Hayek has revealed that she can’t get enough of breastfeeding.

The 42-year-old star, who welcomed daughter Valentina in September 2007, says that she can’t stop herself from breastfeeding her daughter, reports China Daily.

"I'm like an alcoholic. It is like, I don't care if I cry, I don't care if I am fat, I am just going to do it for one more week, one more month, and then when I see how much good it is doing her and I can't stop,” she told Britain's Style magazine.

“It is a very powerful thing, you know," she added.

The Frida star admitted that breastfeeding is very painful.

"Let me tell you it is tough. You don't know what pain I am in after two hours, how difficult it was at first,” she added.

Moreover, she also dismissed claims that it helps mothers shed their post-pregnancy weight.

"And by the way, the myth that says you lose all this weight when you breastfeed? That is so not true! It''s like, please, will everyone stop telling me I look really well," she added.

Diana Hayden is out of the 'Bigg Boss'

She also made it a point to complain, "For the past two weeks, things have really got very dirty, and they are getting nastier by the day. Rahul and Monica are playing the dirtiest game. Monica lies through her teeth and Rahul isolates people by accusing them of all kinds of things."

Priyanka Chopra is now a sexy girl

Tarun Mansukhani is mighty pleased with the kind of response he is getting for the bodies that John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra have acquired for DOSTANA. Accolodes have been coming in from all quarters as both John and Priyanka ignite the heat in their pursuit for acquiring best bodies in the town.

"While John has worked hard on his physique and made sure that heads (belonging to both women and men) turn around him wherever he goes, I am not surprised since he seems to have been born with a six pack abs.

What amazes me though is the strange body that Priyanka Chopra has", says Tarun Mansukhani, debutant director who is beginning his innings with this Karan Johar production.

How exactly?

"Well, she eats so much and doesn't even work out much. Still, she manages to hold her figure. I guess it's her metabolism that allows her to be this way. With DOSTANA, she could well be termed as a sexy girl next door", smiles Tarun.

Abhishek seems to be just the same though as in all his films, isn't it?

"In fact Abhi too has gone through some transformation as he was still working on DRONA when DOSTANA began. He was in fact the fittest since even when John would be tired, he would push him to get back on his feet and face the camera", reveals Tarun.

But he doesn't seem to be flaunting his body the way John is in the film. Why is that case?

Defends Tarun, "See the film and you would know for yourself. The kind of body type that he is carrying is something like is required for the character. It is truly in conjunction with the film. In any case, Abhi is a completely changed person for DOSTANA and is looking really fantastic." - Joginder Tuteja

Kareena and Vidya have a lot to thank to Lara

Lara says she said no Sohail-Salman Khan's Mr & Mrs Khanna and David Dhawan's Hook Ya Crook before they went to Kareena and Vidya.

Not quite happy with the opportunities being provided by producers Lara has almost finished writing a script.

Will she also direct it? "No I'm not ready to direct yet. And I can't wait to start my film. I've done two drafts. And I think it needs one more draft then I'm ready. What prompted me to write a script for myself?

Scriptwriters in Bollywood aren't writing anything indepth for woman.Invariably the scripts glorify the hero while the heroine is the love interest.

And the women-oriented films are half-baked attempts at feminist statements. Both to me are uninspiring."

But interestingly Lara has not written a woman-oriented film. "It has equal space for the male and female protagonist. It's not one of those feminist in-your-face women's films. The male lead will have a lot to contribute to my film."

And yes, Lara will produce the film. "We start soon. It will be a very commercial film..And I can't wait."

Whether Dino Morea will play the lead or not Lara won't say right now. "I've always been a writer. I didn't have to write earlier. Now what I do is, in-between shots instead of chatting or sleeping I write my script. Now I can't write unless I've noise all around me."

Lara's mom has been critically unwell for some time now. "My mom has been unwell for two years. So we're mentally prepared for the inevitable. My mom went into the hospital when I was in Pollachi for Billo Barber. I had to keep focused on my work. That's what being an actor is all about."

Lara is at her busiest now. "It feels good to have people like Shah Rukh and Akshay showing so much faith in me. My only professional regret is I missed out on Salman Khan's Mr & Mrs Khana.

But I can't do everything that's offered to me. David also offered me David Dhawan's Hook Ya Crook. That didn't excite me. But I'm doing David's Do Knot Disturb with Govinda.

We earlier worked together in Partner and I've just completed Ravi Chopra's Banda Yeh Bindas Hai with Govinda.We had a ball I've sharpened my comic aptitudes working with Govinda. "
